How much does a concrete driveway cost in the Hills District or Hawkesbury?
It depends on the size, how much excavation and base preparation the site needs, the reinforcement, and the finish you choose. Plain, coloured and exposed aggregate finishes are priced differently, and sloping blocks need more preparation. The accurate number comes from seeing the site, and quotes are free.
What’s the difference between plain, coloured and exposed aggregate concrete?
Plain concrete is a clean, light grey finish. Coloured concrete has colour mixed through it, such as charcoal, for a darker look. Exposed aggregate has the surface washed back to show the stones in the mix, giving a textured, natural finish. All three go on the same preparation underneath.
How long before I can walk or drive on a new driveway?
It depends on the mix and the weather, so we’ll give you the timings for your job when it’s poured.
Can you replace an old concrete driveway?
Yes. We remove the old concrete, prepare the base again and pour the new driveway.
Do you build council crossovers?
Yes. We build the crossover between the kerb and your boundary together with the driveway, so the two match.
How long will my concrete last, and will it crack?
We use high-quality materials and proven construction methods to help ensure our work lasts for 25 years or more. We also use appropriate materials and techniques to control cracking in our slabs, helping to keep it very limited, if not eliminate it altogether. Cracking can be affected by factors outside our control, including ground movement, weather and site conditions.
Do you do small concrete repairs?
No. We focus on complete jobs such as driveways, patios, pool surrounds and paths, where we control the work from preparation to finish. We don’t take on small patch-up or handyman-style repairs.
Are you licensed and insured for residential work?
Yes. Southo Concrete is a licensed NSW concreting contractor, licence number 398552C, with $20 million public and product liability cover, plus workers insurance. Certificates of currency are available on request. Our crew hold general construction induction (white card) certification.
Which areas do you cover for residential concreting?
Homes across the Hills District and the Hawkesbury. That includes Castle Hill, Baulkham Hills, Cherrybrook, West Pennant Hills, Glenhaven, North Rocks and Winston Hills, plus Hawkesbury suburbs such as Pitt Town, Windsor, Glossodia and Kurrajong, and surrounding areas.
