Why Southo Concrete
What you get when you hire us, and what our customers say keeps them coming back.
One crew, ground to finish
We do the excavation, formwork, reinforcement, pour and finish ourselves. There’s no second trade to book and no gap between them for things to fall through.
Built for hard sites
Long driveways, sloping blocks and difficult access are the jobs other concreters often turn down. Taking care of the earthworks ourselves is what lets us take them on.
Preparation first
How long concrete lasts is decided by the work underneath: the ground, the base and the steel. That’s where we put the most care, even though you won’t see it once it’s poured.
Built to last
High-quality materials and proven construction methods, to help ensure our work lasts for 25 years or more, with techniques used to keep cracking very limited.
Straight communication
Prompt replies and upfront answers are what customers mention most in our Google reviews. You’ll know what’s included before we start.
Trusted by trades
Builders and landscaping businesses use us on job after job, which is the strongest reference a concreter can get.

Who you’ll deal with
Southo Concrete is run by Matt, a concreter with more than 13 years in the trade who has run the business for around seven years.
The business is set up around the part of concreting most people never see: the ground, the base and the steel underneath. That’s why Southo does its own excavation and site preparation instead of handing it to another contractor, and why it takes on the long driveways, sloping blocks and difficult-access sites that other concreters often turn down.
Reviews mention Matt by name, and the same things keep coming up: prompt replies, upfront and straight communication, and quality work.

Concreting questions
Anything else, call 0468 491 882.
How much does a concrete driveway cost in the Hawkesbury?
It depends on the size, access, how much excavation and base preparation the site needs, the reinforcement required and the finish. A long acreage driveway with earthworks is priced very differently from a residential driveway on a prepared block. The accurate number comes from seeing the site, which is why every quote is free.
Do you do the excavation and site preparation?
Yes. We handle excavation, land clearing and site preparation ourselves, then the formwork, reinforcement, placement and finishing. You don’t need to organise a separate earthmoving contractor before we pour, and there’s no gap between trades on the job.
Do you take on small concrete repairs?
No. Our focus is complete projects where we control the job from preparation to finish, such as driveways, shed slabs, retaining walls and outdoor areas. We don’t take on small patch-up or handyman-style repairs.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Southo Concrete is a licensed NSW concreting contractor, licence number 398552C, with $20 million public and product liability cover, plus workers insurance. Certificates of currency are available on request. Our crew hold general construction induction (white card) certification.
What areas do you service?
We’re based in the Hawkesbury and work across the Hills, the Hawkesbury, Sydney and the Central Coast. That covers rural and acreage blocks from Kurrajong, Bilpin and Windsor through to Wisemans Ferry, Colo, Dural and Kenthurst, and homes in Castle Hill, Baulkham Hills and Cherrybrook.
Can you build a sandstone retaining wall and do the concrete?
Yes. We build sandstone block retaining walls, so a sloping site can be retained, levelled and concreted by one contractor. It suits acreage blocks where a shed slab or driveway needs level ground first.
Do you do commercial and civil concreting?
Yes. We do commercial concrete works for builders, developers and contractors, covering excavation, formwork, reinforcement and placement, and civil works including kerb and gutter, footpaths, traffic islands, roundabouts, speed humps and drainage. Send the project address, timing and drawings for a quote.
How do I get a quote?
Call 0468 491 882, or send the quote form below with your suburb, the type of job and a rough size. Photos of the site help. Quotes are free, and we aim to respond within 24 hours.
